What’s Provided
I provide comprehensive dental care to maintain your horse’s oral health, wellbeing, comfort and performance, in a professional, horse-focused manner.
Routine Dental Maintenance
Careful correction and balancing of the dental arcades, including the reduction of sharp enamel points and smoothing of uneven surfaces. Treatments are carried out using modern, high-quality dental equipment to ensure precision and consistency.
Identification of Dental Abnormalities
Thorough examination to identify early signs of dental disease and irregularities, including cavities, diastemata (gaps between teeth), abnormal wear patterns and developmental abnormalities.*
Treatment of Minor Dental Issues
Where appropriate, minor problems identified during the examination can be addressed during the same appointment, helping to maintain comfort and prevent further complications.*
Preventative Dental Care
Early identification and intervention, alongside practical advice, to help prevent minor dental concerns from developing into more significant problems.*
Ongoing Dental Care
I recommend that horses receive a comprehensive dental examination every 6–12 months, depending on their individual needs, age and dental history. Regular appointments allow potential problems to be identified early and addressed promptly.
Many routine issues can be managed during the initial appointment. Where more advanced treatment or specialist investigation is required, I will explain my findings clearly and provide appropriate advice and referral options.
Straightforward, Fixed-Price Dentistry
All routine dental treatments are offered at transparent fixed prices, with no hidden extras. My routine dental appointment includes:
- Travel to your premises
- Full oral examination
- Complete routine maintenance rasping
- Detailed dental chart
I pride myself on delivering a professional, thorough and reliable service, combining modern equipment with a high standard of equine dental care. My aim is to provide every horse with the individual attention and quality of treatment they deserve.
*Veterinary Assistance & Sedation
Some dental procedures, including the extraction of wolf teeth, may require veterinary assistance and sedation to ensure the procedure is carried out safely and comfortably. Where necessary, we will recommend veterinary involvement and liaise with your vet to ensure the appropriate care and treatment is provided.
* Referral may be required and will always be discussed where and when needed.
